David Mellor this month launches a new range of cutlery called Minimal.

The five-piece set, which consists of knife, fork, soup or serving spoon, dessert spoon and teaspoon, has been designed for ‘sophisticated modern living which reflects the current trend toward informal but high-quality eating’, says a spokeswoman.

The free-flowing form, weightiness and satin-polished metal are designed to give the range a luxury feel, she adds.

Mellor is also working on a professional range of stainless steel kitchen knives.

Minimal, available this month from selected retail outlets, will cost £48.50 for a set.
