If your idea of a summer fête is an egg-and-spoon race and Granny’s Dundee cake, think again.

Design stars such as Ron Arad and Habitat’s Tom Dixon will be taking part in the Victoria and Albert Museum’s third annual Village Fete next weekend, where tombola prizes include an Arne Jacobsen coffee pot and a Matthew Hilton chair.

Notable among the stalls and attractions are Bump’s re-enactment of naval battles in the V&A fountain, Foundation 33’s Big Brother Bullseye, Fibre’s tabletop dog racing and a penalty shoot-out care of Graphic Thought Facility.

The fair runs between 6.30pm and 10pm on Friday 26 July and 1pm and 5pm on Saturday 27 July.
