We’re not short of artistic talent in the design industry, but it’s still good to hear of a promising new musical combo.

Acting Chartered Society of Designers director Maria Luniw, a one-time Royal Opera House soprano, and mezzo-soprano Charlotte Deshorger, managing partner of The Grand Design, would have no trouble hitting the high notes together .

They haven’t yet met – something we plan to remedy. Watch out though, Maria. Singing isn’t Charlotte’s only skill. Trained in ballet, her previous career was as a belly dancer – doing Bellygrams, no less. Employed to embarrass unsuspecting birthday boys by their so-called friends, she has tales to tell of hip-shaking antics on the board room table.

The pair could make a killing on the variety circuit. The fascinating combination of operatic warbling and belly dancer wobbling has to be a surefire hit.
