New name for Irish telecom

Nationalised Irish telecommunications company Telecom Eireann is to relaunch as Eircom on 8 April. This is in preparation for privatisation which will see up to 35 per cent of the company floated in London, New York and Dublin in June.

Dublin group The Identity Business created the new name as well as an identity for the company.

The Identity Business principal Jim Dunne declines to comment on the new name prior to the unveiling of the new identity in two weeks time.
