A new Anglo-Japanese sports car, the Vemac RD180, has been branded by London design consultancy The Team.

Recently unveiled at the Design Museum, the car was created by Vemac – a group consisting of Tokyo R&D, Rocket Car R&D and Composite Group.

Tokyo R&D president Masono Ono has designed Le Mans racing cars, Formula One cars, and the IZA electric car.

The name and marque created by The Team pays tribute to the research and development of the collaborators and to the car’s 180 brake horsepower output.

According to The Team design director Richard Ward, “The Vemac name, triangular badge and three colours signify the coming together of the partners and their caring credentials – red represents Japan, green for Great Britain and blue for the US.”
