Blueprint teapot design brewing

Halifax design consultancy Blueprint Product Development has been handed the task of creating the first non-drip teapot, with the help of Yorkshire’s tea drinkers, designers and manufacturing specialists.

The project, funded by Yorkshire Tea, aims to develop a teapot that is “robust, affordable, stylish and above all, does not drip”. Prototype drawings will be created by the end of the year.

Blueprint design director Alistair Williamson says: “To design something with which everyone is so familiar is a terrific challenge.”

“We’re thrilled to be helping Yorkshire’s designers create the teapot for the next millennium,” says Yorkshire Tea creative director Mary Godfrey.
