Harrow-on-the-Hill design consultancy Nim has created the packaging for a Christmas range of scented, glass-mounted candles for specialist retailer Wax Lyrical. Launched in the UK last week, the products will go on sale worldwide at the end of November. The design is based on work from Austrian artist Gustav Klimt, says Nim designer Lim Khaw. ‘His work has a very romantic feel to it, using lots of shapes and gold, which is what we’ve done on the packaging,’ explains Khaw. The consultancy has also created individual range names, continuing the romantic theme – Nim came up with three varieties called Desire, Sensuality and Harmony, described on the back of the packs. The typeface emulates Klimt’s signature.
The collaborative concept album was creatively directed by Pentagram’s Abbott Miller, with illustrations from Ori Toor and animations by 1983 studio.
Studio Sutherland has given the organisation a “modern, accessible and easily usable” identity that is centred on the arches found in UK churches.
