Conran Design Group has created interiors and an identity for textile manufacturer Milliken Carpet’s first London studio, which opens on 5 November.
The identity incorporates the number five in place of the ‘S’ in studio, reflecting its address at 5 Berry Street. Visiting designers will be able to browse Milliken’s products and use its reference library.
The site will also feature a private room for client meetings or brainstorming sessions.
The consultancy has collaborated with several designers and artists on the project, including graphic designer Alan Kitching who has created marketing material for the studio’s launch.
Milliken also collaborated with former fashion designers Wayne and Gerardine Hemingway earlier this year on GoModular, a youth-oriented carpet range.
‘We did not want to create a carpet showroom, but an inspirational, creative working environment,’ says Milliken Carpet marketing manager Morag Girdwood. One designer will be based in the Clerkenwell studio.
