Design groups praised for WPP Group profits

WPP Group’s 1999 interim results show design consultancies have contributed to an 18 per cent growth in revenues for the organisation’s branding and identity and healthcare and specialist communications divisions.

The results reveal an overall increase of 20 per cent in pre-tax profits and a 13 per cent rise in revenue to £1.017bn.

Last month WPP credited its design consultancies with supplying a major contribution to the group’s 15 per cent worldwide profit growth over the first five months of 1999 (DW 2 July).

Coley Porter Bell, Enterprise IG, BDG McColl, Scott Stern, Walker Group/CNI Retail and German group Windi Winderlich have all been praised for performing “particularly well” in the latest set of results.
