The Grand Design brands housing body

The car of the future could be inspired by classic designs of the past, if the result of a recent design competition is anything to go by. The contest was sponsored by Jaguar and British Steel Strip Products and was only open to students of the Royal College of Art vehicle design course.

Martin Kropp contributed the winning vision of what Jaguar’s Mark III saloon could look like. The proportions of the car draw heavily on those of the famous Mark II, one of Jaguar’s most famous models. A quarter-scale model of Kropp’s design is to be constructed for display at the RCA’s end-of-year show in June.
