Design Go has created an identity and packaging for NetAway, a worldwide pay-as-you-go Internet service that launches next month.
The product will allow users to access the Internet from their laptop or PDA for the cost of a local call in 170 countries worldwide. It will be available from high street and airport retailers from March.
Design Go creative director Barney Edwards says the consultancy – which already produces a range of travel products – has negotiated a profit share with NetAway creator Net2Roam in lieu of fees.
The identity combines the two key elements of the product, technology and travel, says Edwards.
‘The graphics enable those two elements to talk to each other,’ he explains. ‘The typography is quite technical, but there are fluid elements that [give the impression of] go-anywhere freedom.’
Packaging was created after the group identified ‘the key product offer and the hierarchy of communication on-pack’, he adds.
Design Go has also created a website, www.netaway.com, plus point-of-sale material.
