Photofix is a stand-alone package for working with colour photos. Linographic says it is the only package that allows you to scan, catalogue, retouch and print colour images without any other software. Although it lacks the advanced features of Photoshop, which almost all of you own, it does allow basic photo manipulation and retouching. It looks suited more for documentation and filing images rather than serious composition. Linotype claims that it will run on any colour Mac with 1Mb of free RAM. Photofix also has a printer optimising tool which lets you set dither patterns to improve print quality. Price ú200. Ring Linographic on 0252 376 103.
