Photofix is a stand-alone package for working with colour photos. Linographic says it is the only package that allows you to scan, catalogue, retouch and print colour images without any other software. Although it lacks the advanced features of Photoshop, which almost all of you own, it does allow basic photo manipulation and retouching. It looks suited more for documentation and filing images rather than serious composition. Linotype claims that it will run on any colour Mac with 1Mb of free RAM. Creative director Jenny Theolin has launched a new platform that will name studios which treat their junior employees well based on “positive” reviews, rather than a “black-list” that shames companies.
The 30 shortlisted designs for this year’s Loewe Craft Prize will go on display at the museum this May, and the overall winner will be awarded €50,000.
The shortlist of 200 illustrators has been whittled down from over 3,000 entries, and will go on display at Somerset House in June.
