London Remade to cut funding?

London Remade may cut funding for environmentally friendly product development unless it is able to allocate £60 000 of a £220 000 three-year budget earmarked for innovative work, including design projects.

The organisation, which funds work to support the Mayor of London’s Green Procurement Code, has not yet generated enough interest in its design and development initiative. Michael Marriott, project manager at London Remade, says that the organisation is trying to reduce waste by encouraging responsible purchasing behaviour by businesses, rather than focusing on design initiatives.

Applications must be received before 31 March.
