Almond gives EC an energy boost

Almond Consultancy starts work on a two-year, £150 000 contract for the European Commission this week.

The group’s first task is to create four brochures on the energy sector. It is designing the brochures and simplifying the content, which was generated by research teams, to make the publications more user-friendly. The work will be unveiled at the Directorate General Energy & Transport conference in Barcelona on 18 and 19 October.

The two-year contract includes research, technical writing, design, print and distribution of a series of technical bulletins, brochures and newsletters for the Directorate General for Energy and Transport in Brussels. The material will be sent out to companies in the oil industry, universities and research organisations as part of information project EC Funded Oil & Gas Projects.

Almond Consultancy, which was appointed at the beginning of the month, won the work without a formal pitch.

The consultancy is working with specialist technical writers Ythan Publishing and Netherlands-based research agency Gehaco on the project.
