Congrats all round to those behind a ‘superb’ New Blood

The future of our industry is in great hands if my annual pilgrimage to D&AD’s New Blood event was anything to go by.

The future of our industry is in great hands if my annual pilgrimage to D&AD’s New Blood event was anything to go by. I can’t remember the last time I saw so much talent in one space at the same time.

And it wasn’t just the wealth of exciting solutions to ‘real’ commercial briefs provided by blue-chip companies. There was a real sense of professionalism at the show, something that gets better every year. This was underlined, not just by the great work, but by so many students promoting both their work and that of their colleagues. A real team effort.

With such a volume of work to review, I have to take my hat off to the judges for what was a difficult task. I don’t agree with every decision, but picking winners from such a rich pool can’t be easy. One collection of work that stayed with me on the way home was some great work from Norwich School of Art and Design.

Congratulations to them and every other university for a superb show.
