Irving ‘to put Plume on the map’

Kate Irving has joined Plume Productions as managing director. Irving quit the joint managing director role at Rodney Fitch Design Consultants two months ago (DW 25 April).

Irving says she has been appointed to the new role at the 15-strong, 18-year-old consultancy “to put Plume on the map”.

She says the TV identity and film titles group is a great team which produces great work and in founder and creative director Richard Morrison it has someone “who is very highly respected” in the field.

She adds: “We now need to make the transition to being highly and widely respected and known. I will be driving the company towards ambitious targets. We have massive and international ambitions.”

Following Irving’s high-profile departure from Rodney Fitch Design Consultants after less than a year in the post, Irving says she “talked to a lot of people and had a lot of exciting offers”. But the job at Plume “is the one for me”, she adds.

Irving joined Rodney Fitch from Coley Porter Bell, where she worked on the identity for a Dutch TV channel. CPB sub-contracted the on-screen work to Plume and Irving says she has kept in touch with the on-screen specialists ever since.

Morrison says Irving’s arrival is the latest in an ongoing expansion which has seen five staff taken on already this year. Of taking on

Irving, he says: “We couldn’t have planned it better. It’s a great opportunity.”
