A newly merged South African bank has launched its name and identity by Sampson Associates in Johannesburg.

FBC Holdings is formed out of FutureBank, Bophuthatswana Building Society, Citizen Bank and Msele Corporate and Merchant Bank.

Sampson Associates worked with the bank’s directors to preserve existing equity and create a simplified corporate look, says consultancy managing director Jeremy Sampson.

FBC’s major shareholder is the black empowerment group Thebe Investment Corporation. The bank plans to focus on merchant banking, as well as mortgage lending and the provision of business finance.
