On show at the Barbican is a retrospective: Marc Riboud: Forty Years of Photography. The French photographer’s fascination with China has led to a well- documented study of the country’s social and political developments. The exhibition features over 120 prints covering subjects from the Great Leap Forward to the economic boom, poverty and the Cultural Revolution. Until 17 August.

If that is not for you, pop along to Hat Tricks at the Association of Photographers. To coincide with Ascot, the gallery will be presenting photographs featuring hats. Barry Lategan and Carl Lyttle display portraits, still life and fashion images. From 24 June-12 July.
