Confectionery retail chain Thorntons has unveiled a trial store format by Dalziel & Pow, as part of a process known by the client as Project Nirvana.
The chain has been facing increasing competition in the specialist food market. Three stores have recently been given the more modern format, which is being considered as a template for Thorntons’ image after 2000.
The stores are in Reading, Glasgow and on London’s Cheapside. The chain is in the process of redeveloping its property portfolio, focusing on prime high street locations. It has opened 150 new stores in the last 18 months.
