Carter Wong breakaways

The eight-strong Carter Wong breakaway led by former director Nick Downes has formed Interstate, a new design consultancy operating from west London (DW 13 November).

The group will offer “client servicing across graphics, 3D and new media”, according to an Interstate spokesman. Clients include Unilever, Formula One’s governing body FIA and US-owned PLD Telecom which operates in Russia.

Along with Downes, Interstate staff include Georgia Shields, former Carter Wong business development director; Nigel Gray and Toby Glover, senior designers in graphics and multimedia respectively; and Debbie Fleming on production and implementation.

Interstate is looking for another middleweight designer, and is “seeking alliances with like-minded creative businesses to further its offer”, the spokesman adds.
