Navy Blue expands with new multimedia arm

Edinburgh and London-based Navy Blue Design Consultants is continuing its rapid expansion with the establishment of a new multimedia consultancy.

Navyblue.com will be based in Edinburgh and headed by Scott Fraser, who joins from Pure Design at the end of the month.

The new venture is a natural extension to Navy Blue’s work and will allow the group to give clients a more rounded solution, according to London-based director Geoff Nicol.

“What we’re about is problem-solving. Being strategic is about working out what’s needed and finding a solution,” he says.

The expansion follows the acquisition of interiors and exhibitions company Elliott McDougall (Scotland) to form Navy Blue Interiors & Exhibitions, and the setting up of a London office earlier this year to bring the staff total to 40. Nicol envisages further developments next year, but is keeping plans under wraps.

Navy Blue’s move follows news that Edward Briscoe International Group is to acquire a multimedia company as part of its own expansion plans (DW 13 November).
