Paper companies award print

Spanish consultancy Gráfica has received the most nominations for the 1998 Donside Awards for Design, one of several print design awards being sponsored by paper companies.

Spanish consultancy Gráfica has received the most nominations for the 1998 Donside Awards for Design, one of several print design awards being sponsored by paper companies.

Gráfica, which has been shortlisted in four categories, is followed by UK groups The Chase Creative Consultants in three, with The Partners and Trickett & Webb each in two. Winners will be announced on 30 November.

A separate competition, the 1998 Donside Student Awards, has just been won by Tom Williams of Glasgow School of Art.

In Scotland, the 1998 Business Insider Annual Report Awards has announced its category winners. This event is sponsored by Donald Murray Paper and Tullis Russell Papermakers.

Design category winners comprised Octopus Design, Navy Blue Design Consultants, The Marque, Lackie Newton and the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in-house team. PRM Marketing and Design won the non-Scottish company category.

Meanwhile, Alliance Paper Group is putting the final touches to its second Galerie Art Design & Print Awards. As Design Week went to press the judges were finalising the award categories.

The judges include Marks & Spencer print manager Richard Lowes, The Chase creative director Ben Casey and Addison creative director Peter Chodel.

The closing date for the awards is 1 June 1999 and application forms are available from the Alliance Paper Group marketing department.
