New BBC corporate head of design Tony Key says he is tackling the corporation’s reception areas as a priority.

Key, who joined from BT at the start of August, says he is working with several interior designers on improving a few “shoddy foyers”.

He won’t reveal specific projects yet or who is working on them, but says he is talking to “lots of designers” about how the BBC’s corporate face can be better presented. “I’m looking across the whole broad canvas to see what needs upgrading,” says Key.

A corporate identity revamp is not being considered. “We have a brand known worldwide, why would we change it?” he says.
