Quality graduate seeking a quality company

I find it hard to believe the comments supplied by Karina Beasley of Gabriele Skelton in the Recruitment Survey (DW 6 October). Having recently graduated from Goldsmiths College with a 2:1 in design I have found the lack of opportunities unbelievable.

Average starting salaries in London appear to be £12 000 per annum. No one wants you if you don’t have three-years experience, especially Gabriele Skelton, to which I sent a CV. What is a “quality graduate” and how do they apply to all those companies who are in such need?

After 40 applications and ten interviews I have had five negative responses and the rest haven’t even replied. If it’s hard for companies to find quality graduates, it’s even harder for graduates to find quality companies.
