Contest for architect’s identity

The Architects Registration Board is holding an open competition for students of all disciplines to create its new identity.

An ARB spokeswoman says the competition is a way of supporting educational standards, rather than a low-cost route to a new logo. “Also, we are not a commercial body. We thought it would be good for students to learn about the ARB,” she adds.

A more modern and accessible image is being sought, moving away from the current “masonic” one, says the spokeswoman. The closing date is 5 May and prizes totalling 175 will be offered.
