Pier designers yet to be divulged

The Brighton West Pier Trust has “a fairly firm idea” of the interior and graphic design groups it plans to use for its refurbishment of the historic site, following the receipt of a 10.65m Heritage Lottery Fund grant last week.

But the need for preliminary structural work is likely to delay the appointment of the designers to the project, says the trust’s Rachel Clark.

The pier is to be restored to the condition of its heyday in the 1920s. Further funds are being provided by Brighton and Hove Council and restaurateur Oliver Peyton.
