Buy-out from Drambuie

A management buy-out has removed Davis Design from the ownership of Drambuie. The 20-year-old Scottish consultancy had been owned by the liqueur company since 1991, and by Caithness Glass before that.

Davis Design, which has offices in Edinburgh and Glasgow, will now attack new sectors and seek new clients, says managing director and new owner Ernie Davis.

Davies declines to reveal the price of the buy-out. But he says there have been no redundancies among the eight-strong staff, which includes three designers.

“The buy-out has happened in perfectly friendly circumstances,” says Davis. “We are still working for Drambuie and have got off to a cracking start.”
