Clearly the place to be seen

Euphorium is a new Islington restaurant with interiors by Munkenbeck and Marshall and graphics by React.

It is designed so diners can see the chef in action. Euphorium’s proprietor and chef Marwan Badran, former chef at Alistair Little and The Groucho Club, says: “We asked the designers to produce a unique look.”

“The brief was to design a restaurant which [Badran] could run himself, like a private dining room,” says Munkenbeck and Marshall partner Alfred Munkenbeck.

The 55m2 restaurant has a square glass frontage, with its name in 50cm-high gold-leaf lettering. “The typeface is Gill, as it’s geometric and suited the squares and angles of the interior,” says React designer Conor Brady.
