Muji design competition

Japanese retailer Muji is launching a design competition to mark the 15th anniversary of its “no brand goods” chain. The competition is open to anyone in Japan, Hong Kong and Britain.

The task is to design a new Muji product which reflects the Muji concept and will be of global appeal. There is ú27 750 in prizes, including a first prize of 1m Yen (ú6450).

Entries must be in by 8 May for judging by a panel which includes Japanese designer Ikko Tanaka. If a UK entrant wins, he or she will be flown to Japan for an awards ceremony.
