Kent transport Why Not identity

Why Not Associates has won a five-way pitch to create the branding for Kent Thames-side’s new public transport system, Fastrack.

The group teamed up with urban design consultancy Patel Taylor and French landscape architect Groupe Signes for the proposals and credentials pitch.

Rival branding contenders were Trickett & Webb, Farrow, The Grand Design, and Henrion Ludlow & Schmidt. Executive director of the Kent Thames-side team Jeff Hennessey says of the line-up: “We were spoilt.”

Fastrack’s brief calls for a “high quality, local public transport network” (DW 25 February). “We see the scheme itself as a piece of regeneration that will add to the branding of Kent Thames-side,” it adds.
