Kingfisher-owned retailers Woolworths and Superdrug launched their first joint format store this week, designed by Brighton design consultancy CDW & Partners. The retailer plans to roll the format out to four or five locations in the South East area.

Called Woolworths General Store, the branch in north London’s Palmers Green is based on a convenience store concept, stocking ranges from both chains, plus lines of food, alcohol, cigarettes and magazines. Opening hours are currently 7am to 11pm.

Superdrug marketing and property director Steven Round says: “The trial stores are currently all converted Woolworth’s stores.”
