Minale Tattersfield in multiple petrol deals

Minale Tattersfield & Acton will become the world leader in petrol station design, predicts group chairman Marcello Minale.

Minale Tattersfield & Acton will become the world leader in petrol station design, predicts group chairman Marcello Minale. The consultancy is currently working on three major contracts.

The newest is an updating of 1080 petrol stations in Italy for Italiana Petroli. Minale Tattersfield & Acton partner Maurice Acton says: “We have been building this relationship. The client interviewed several design groups but we won.”

The Italiana Petroli project encompasses all aspects of the stations’ design, as does that for Thai Oil, another of the group’s projects.

The first major prototype station for the new Thai chain opened three weeks ago at Thana City near Bangkok. Also including a new corporate identity, the Thai Oil job is the start of a national chain being built from scratch by what was just a refining company.

Also being built now are the first “mobile” petrol stations designed by the consultancy for Agip in Russia.

The prefabricated modular stations can be erected within 24 hours and although they have been designed with the Russian market in mind, the principle is applicable to many markets, comments Acton.

Indeed, says Acton, Agip – a sponsor of the Ferrari Grand Prix team – is using the modular system for building temporary petrol stations at this year’s premier motor-racing locations.
