Description is in Starck contrast to minimalism

There’s obviously something very odd about French stars.

First we had footballer-turned-poet Eric Cantona with all that talk of flying sardines. Now we have Philippe Starck giving an equally esoteric description of his elliptical ST Strange Thing sofa for Cassina (DW 18 April).

And in Starck-speak the piece of furniture is ‘a jelly fish, a crab, a spaceship, a clam, a surfboard, an illusion, an alien, a jbok, a krank, a zigug, but not a sofa’.
