Young Designers rival the professionals

I wonder how many designers have been back to school recently. As part of becoming involved with the Young Designers initiative, I have, and can say that it has been a real eye opener.

Young Designers, organised by Design Events, is the first ever national design platform aimed at some of the 440 000 15-18-year-olds studying design and technology in the UK.

Having experienced at first hand, on school visits, the limitations teachers and pupils have to work under, it is fantastic to see the quality of work that comes out, in addition to a focus and creativity that would have some professionals blushing.

I know that the other designers who have been involved have been equally impressed and also that, through participation and recognition of the initiative, many students have chosen design as a career. For more information, check out the website (www.young-designers.com).
