Baglee ‘the people’s poet’ spreads the word

Patrick Baglee from Real Time Studio has started calling himself ‘a writer’, but appears to have now become a frustrated literary patron.

A series of e-mails have been sent to DW from the man of many words. It started on 11 August with a résumé of the previous night’s football action involving his beloved team, Carlisle United.

Innovative phrases such as ‘slap head’ and ‘ginger genius’ littered the impassioned copy.

Seven days later a passage from Joseph Conrad’s Heart of Darkness arrived, followed by an extract from Norman Mailer’s The Fight a week later.

Baglee denies substance abuse. ‘I get a bit tired of reading about value added and return on investment, and spreading these pieces of prose brings a little light (or in the case of Conrad, dark) into everyone’s lives,’ he explains.
