The Paris-based premium scent-maker awarded the project to Fold 7 about three months ago, following a three-way pitch involving the designer of the current website, according to Fold 7.
’We were tasked with bringing the brand alive ahead of the company’s drive to go global,’ says Fold 7 head of digital Simon Packer. ’If you go into L’Artisan Parfumeur’s stores you are impressed by the nuanced artistry of the brand and the knowledge of the perfumers. Right now, the online offer doesn’t represent the stores at all, and the site doesn’t allow the company the global reach it is seeking,’ he adds.
Fold 7 has taken illustrations by an L’Artisan Parfumeur nose, who uses sketches of places to help him to create fragrances, and turned them into ’little theatre sets’ for the products.
’This helps bring a bit of French flamboyance and expression back to the brand, and helps to solidify the branding online,’ says Packer.
The digital concept has inspired L’Artisan Parfumeur to adapt it for its store window designs.
The website is due to go live in about two months’ time, according to Fold 7. L’Artisan Parfumeur was unavailable for comment at the time of going to press.
