BDP moves into lighting

Building Design Partnership is launching a specialist lighting design consultancy, BDP Lighting. It will be led by director Barrie Wilde.

BDP has had lighting design as an aspect of its architectural and interiors offer and has also done isolated pure lighting work.

The group hopes to increase its purely lighting work with the new consultancy, which will operate as a quasi-independent division. As well as designing lighting schemes, BDP Lighting will also work on new lighting products for commercial production.

Wilde, who joined BDP in 1988, will be supported by designers from within the BDP group and will also recruit a yet to be decided level of staff.
