Jenkins Group makes short work of CIMA

The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants

The Jenkins Group has shortened its 1986 corporate identity for the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants to CIMA – which may change again if a proposed merger takes place.

CIMA may merge over the next two years with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, creating “the largest body to represent accountants in the UK”, according to Jenkins Group chairman Nick Jenkins.

But the consultancy will not definitely be redesigning the logo if the merger goes ahead. “We’ll look at several designers, including Jenkins,” says CIMA director of member and corporate affairs Martin Nimmo.

Jenkins originally designed the identity in 1986 (DW 19 December 1986), advising the client that the name could be shortened to initials “when it established itself as a major force in the accountancy world, which it has now”, says Jenkins.

Jenkins is recommending several freelance designers and small consultancies to the client to work on leaflet design.
