Oil merger identity

Wolff Olins ‘may be’ talking to BP and Amoco concerning the identity of the proposed merged oil giant, according to a consultancy spokeswoman.

A BP spokeswoman says the oil business has not started approaching identity consultancies, following the announcement of its intention to merge with US company Amoco.

However she confirms the name of the proposed company will be BP Amoco, and that the merger is hoped to be completed by the end of the year.
