London duo in tandem for bike exhibition

Assorted Images is designing the graphics and Casson Mann is designing the exhibition for a show about bicycles to be held at the Design Museum in London from October.

Both London consultancies were appointed by the museum after credentials pitches against undisclosed rivals. The exhibition is scheduled to run from 30 October for five months.

It is the fifth time Assorted Images has been hired by the Design Museum, says director Kasper de Graaf. Its previous credits include the Japanese product design exhibition held at the museum three years ago.

Assorted Images and Casson Mann have collaborated before on exhibitions, as long ago as 1989 for a show in Rotterdam. De Graaf says an “integrated” approach is being taken, with the designers developing ideas alongside the curatorial decisions. Bikes featured will date from 1825 to the present day.
