Second course for fmcg awards

The International Food and Beverage awards, for creative excellence in the food and beverage markets, are to be held for a second time in April, following the event’s success in 1999.

The awards recognise excellence in several areas, including packaging design, identity design, annual reports and digital media.

There are also categories for advertising in the press, on television and in the cinema.

Branding specialist Lewis Moberly was the leading design consultancy in last year’s inaugural competition, scooping a total of three honours.

Other UK entrants included Minale Tattersfield & Partners, Jones Knowles Ritchie, Catapult and Brand New Design.

There were additional entries from nearly 40 countries, spanning five continents.

The competition featured work for giant global clients such as Allied Domecq, Cadbury, Coca Cola, Guinness, Kellog’s, Mars, Pepsi and McDonald’s. There were also entries from smaller concerns such as The Original Black Vodka Company and Aeron Farm Cheese.

Entries have already been submitted for this year’s awards. The entry deadline is 17 February, with judging, by an international jury, set to take place on 16 April.

Presentations are scheduled to take place at London’s Hurlingham Club on 17 April.
