Design Week publishes Hot 50

Tomorrow sees the publication of Design Week’s 2011 Hot 50 – the latest round-up of people, movements and organisations that went beyond the distance for design during the previous 12 months.

The listing, published within the issue dated 27 January, again includes a handful of designers and design-related bodies. But these are interspersed with other creative champions operating on the edge of the design community and projects and movements that have furthered the practice and appreciation of design.

This year’s Hot 50 entrants were selected by an external panel chaired by DW editor Lynda Relph-Knight. Selectors were Daniel Charny, director of From Now On, Isobel Dennis, director of Upper Street Events, Applied Information Group creative director Malcolm Garrett, David Godber, now of Vestas Wind Systems, Garrick Hamm, creative partner of Williams Murray Hamm, Circus founder Dilys Maltby and David Redhead, creative director of Cultureshock Media.
