A black square with a name in it is a put-off
The Design Council logo is a spiffing idea. Anything that creates its own “defensible space” (DW 7 June) has got to be mind enriching in some way. It has at least given us some idea of what the Design Council actually does, that is, produce small black squares with its name inside.
In three years of consultancy practice, we have never heard from the council, been offered help, money or advice. All we know is that now they don’t do a lot of what they used to. I’ve been curious for some years – I think the new logo has just made me lose interest.
