Greek brandy for Olympics

Greek drinks company Metaxa International is celebrating this year’s Olympics by bringing out a limited edition “brandy”. Red Design Consultants in Athens created the labelling and box.

“Red Design found inspiration in the first contemporary Olympic Games of 1896,” says a group spokesman. The label’s background features an original handwritten letter from King George of Greece to the Panathinaiko stadium’s architect Mamais.

The Metaxa and Greek colours are used throughout while the gold gift box shows the medals in relief. Metaxa Golden Olympia is going on-shelf in the US and the world’s biggest duty free shops.
