A winning pair

Following on from our round up of comments on the launch of the Olympic mascots last week.

Pearce Marchbank of Studio Twenty has put his thoughts on paper.

He writes: ‘A lot of people in the design world, myself included, were very rude about the 2012 London Olympics logo and it’s nasty sister typeface – and to a certain degree I still think rightly so.

Wenlock and Mandeville are brilliant. They must tick every imaginable box. What a relief after the pathetic soft toys of past Olympics. And with two of them merchandising is doubled.’
