Following on from our round up of comments on the launch of the Olympic mascots last week.
Pearce Marchbank of Studio Twenty has put his thoughts on paper.
He writes: ‘A lot of people in the design world, myself included, were very rude about the 2012 London Olympics logo and it’s nasty sister typeface – and to a certain degree I still think rightly so.
Wenlock and Mandeville are brilliant. They must tick every imaginable box. What a relief after the pathetic soft toys of past Olympics. And with two of them merchandising is doubled.’
