FCO launches design contest

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office is launching a competition for design graduates who have shown their work at the New Designers exhibition.

The FCO is seeking products including state of the art technology. Those chosen will be commissioned for production and presented as gifts to visiting heads of state, government officials and their spouses, attending the G8 Summit and the Asia-Europe Meeting. Both events are to be held in Britain next year.

The competition is being co-ordinated by the Business Design Centre, with an end-of-year deadline for entries.

Entrants must have the manufacturing capacity to deliver the required number of products if their bid is successful.
