I loved the piece about designers, particularly male, and their black. It was an eloquent re-statement of the eternal truth – any group trying to break away from stereotyping unavoidably ends up creating another stereotype.
But hang on a minute – black? ‘the colour of privilege and power’, ‘asceticism, piety and seriousness’? Come on boys, own up: black is none of those things, really. It is, however, the colour for the most effective security blanket.
