DTI packaging survey kicks off

The Department of Trade and Industry has commissioned The Institute of Packaging to compile a UK packaging industry survey.

The brief is to produce a detailed definition for Government and industry of the size of the sector, number of employees, skills base and training needs.

Some 10 000 questionnaires will go out at the beginning of October, to be followed up by the same number of telephone calls. The mapping project is expected to take 15 months to complete.
