New Era dawns for Boot’s Wellbeing hub

Boots The Chemists opens its first Wellbeing centre this week in Greenford, Middlesex, featuring interiors designed by Era.

The centre incorporates a gym, two swimming pools, an exercise studio, sauna, spa and steam, lounge, café, crèche, shop and a hairdressing salon.

It will also offer customers ‘lifestyle advice’ programmes, including Managing Your Weight and Quit Smoking.

The consultancy’s interiors feature modern, natural materials such as bamboo and marble and incorporate a double-height entrance hall with graphic panels of sunshine shining through trees.

Large images of medicinal plants continue the theme of light and space, according to a Boots spokesman.

Architect Joseph and Partners designed the building.

Boots The Chemists’ upmarket beauty chain Pure Beauty, which opened its first of eight stores in London’s Covent Garden on Monday, has signed up Julien MacDonald as one of five fashion and beauty expert advisors. Pentagram partner Lorenzo Apicella has created interiors concepts for the Pure Beauty chain.
