Make a note of Retailpack ’97 the only niche packaging exhibition of its kind, which takes place this year from 14-16 October. The show will have two focal points, packaging design and point of purchase material.

Don’t forget this year’s American Institute of Graphic Arts national conference – Jambalaya: the Design of Culture Meets the Culture of Design. It is the seventh biennial event and takes place from 13-17 November, in New Orleans.

For those of you into poster design don’t miss the Bonham’s ‘High’ Art: original artwork and vintage posters sale on 16 September. The auction celebrates the 30th anniversary of the summer of love with a number of psychedelic posters. Highlights include 20 original artworks from the Rick Griffin estate, including the famous Flying Eyeball.
